Samurai Jack Paper Craft Action Figure

I recently played the game Samurai Jack, Battle Through time. It really took me back to the very beginning of the cartoon series which I have enjoyed very much since I first watched it on a VCD player many many years ago.

It inspired me to make a Papercrafts model of Samurai Jack to commemorate the end of his story which I consider the game version as the true ending. I liked that after more than fifty years of torment and struggles in the dark future created Aku, Jack finally defeated him and found happiness with Ashi. It was a great disservice to the character the way the series ended on TV. The game ending felt like the player had to earn a happy ending for Jack and it feels more satisfying, being with Jack every step and stage of the game.

For the paper craft model, I choose to make his face in a more realistic fashion than the animated character. It is the way I imagined Jack could have looked like if the style of the animation was based on a real person.

This is the paper mache shell of Jack. Its made of thin paper and molded around a base action figure, usually a cheap plastic toy.

The face is made from a foam clay available at hobby shops and Japanese Stores like Daiso. I molded it using a face mold I made from another action figure

This is Samurai Jack in his completed form. I saw episodes where his Kimono gets ripped and he fights only in his undergarments in the end.

Jack is now semi complete in his half kimono

Magmar paper craft barbarian blacksmith.

I've been idle lately but now I'm getting back into the swing of things. I recently finished a few action figures and I will be sharing those into this blog.

I took inspiration from the savage crucible toy line and made my own barbarian action figure.

As you can see, I'm still using the paper tubes and axle rotation to simulate joints
Magmar the barbarian black smith turned out well, with smooth articulation and good over all proportions.
